Getting phpMyAdmin to WORK :)

I downloaded the phpMyAdmin – 2.11.1 to work with MySQL client version: 3.23.49

After all the extraction and creating the virtual directory, I finally wanted to run the main scripts and what I got is

Access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: NO)

I configured all the things still it was giving me the same error until I found the solution.

The following configuration worked for me :

filename : config.inc.php

<?php

/*

*/

/* Servers configuration */

$i = 0;

/* Server localhost (config:root) [1] */

$i++;

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘host’] = ‘localhost’;

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘extension’] = ‘mysql’;

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘port’] = ‘3306’;

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘connect_type’] = ‘tcp’;

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘password’] = ‘iit123’;

/* End of servers configuration */

?>
