Ramadan – The month of reading and understanding the Quran

Ramadan_by_bishoujo23

2:185

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. [2:185]

2:183

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous – [2:183]

It is the month to increase our Takwa. We should fear Allah whenever we are about to commit any sin and refrain from doing it.

3:102

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]. [3:102]

49:13

O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. [49:13]

أَنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً

The Prophet said: “Umrah during Ramadan is equal to Hajj.”

مَنْ قَامَهُ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ

Narrated by Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying regarding Ramadan, “Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”

‏ تَحَرَّوْا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ

Narrated by `Aisha:

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to practice I`tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, “Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.”

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that she said:
“O Messenger of Allah, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Laylatul-Qadr?” He said: “Say: ‘Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).'” [ Sunan Ibn Majah 3850 In-book reference : Book 34, Hadith 24]
